The main role of Cumbria’s Computing Hub is to provide FREE* Computing CPD that will support teachers as they deliver computing in their schools – whether specialists in teaching computing or non-specialists. A popular aspect of our work at secondary level has been working with teachers whose specialism is not computing, and ‘upskilling’ them to a level where they can confidently teach Computing at KS3 and be capable of transitioning to GCSE classes.
The hub is closely linked to other DfE funded bodies, STEM Learning, Science Learning Partnerships, Enthuse Partnerships, the STEM Ambassadors Program and Maths Hubs.
