December ECF and AB Blog

By 28 November 2023No Comments

Hello Everyone,

Christmas is just around the corner and I hope you are looking forward to some fun festive times and a well-deserved break.

Firstly, CONGRATULATIONS to our group of ECTs who are competing induction this term. It has been a pleasure working alongside you over the last two years – a fantastic set of teachers with so much to offer! THANK YOU must also go to the mentors who have supported them along the way – we couldn’t do this without you.

If you are employing an ECT to start in January and have not yet contacted me, please let me know as soon as possible: BEDDOET@onecumbria.education

Lots to tell you about in this newsletter so please read to the end and complete any actions before the holidays if you can.

I will be taking a break too, from 20th December to 2nd January so will see you all in the new year.

Wishing you all the best,

Tina

ECTs – Please complete the Midpoint Survey on Brightspace

The Midpoint Survey is currently live for ECTs in Wave 1 of the 2022 and 2023 cohorts (i.e. those who started in September). ECTs have been invited to complete the survey via a unique personalised link sent to them via direct email. The initial email was sent on 30 October from the sender “Teach First ECF Programme” and reminders have subsequently been sent to those who have yet to complete the survey on 7 November and 15 November. As of 14 November, 11% of ECTs have responded to the survey. The survey will remain open until 18 December, and Teach First will continue to send periodic reminders throughout this period. There are 4x £50 Amazon giftcards up for grabs, which any ECTs who respond to the survey can win in a raffle.
Please look out for this email (and subsequent reminders) and follow the link within it to share your experience of the ECF programme so far. If anyone has issues accessing the survey, they can raise a request with the contact centre for support: https://www.teachfirst.org.uk/contact-us/form
